I love CdMx: chef Elena Reygadas

Chosen as the best female chef in the world 2023 by The World's Best 50 Restaurants, chef Elena Reygadas is a source of Mexican pride.

She studied English literature at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, but she dedicated herself to cooking, a family inheritance and a product of her intuition, a passion of hers that began with viennoseries, a great memory from her childhood.

Her first restaurant, Rosetta, opened in 2010, which was ranked number 49 on the World's 50 Best list, awarding the 50 best restaurants in the world in 2023. In 2022, she was ranked number 60 on the same list.

From this restaurant came his second business, the Rosetta bakery, opened due to the success of the sweet plan it served and for which he decided to expand, where sweet bread with Mexican touches is sold (located on the same street as the Rosetta restaurant and today with A branch).

Today, in addition to her bakery, her businesses include a neighborhood cafe in the Juárez neighborhood, a Mediterranean food restaurant with a more relaxed atmosphere, and an Italian restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Most of her businesses are located in the Roma and Hipódromo Condesa neighborhoods, which allows her to walk from one to the other.

Her personal touch in her dishes is the fusion of seasonal Mexican food with touches of international cuisine (such as pasta). The chef is an avid promoter of Mexican cuisine, its ingredients and their responsible and ecological cultivation (she has declared herself against genetically modified corn).

In 2022 she launched a scholarship named after her with the aim of promoting the leadership of Mexican women in gastronomy.

In 2014 she was also recognized with the Veuve Clicquot award for Latin America's Best Female Chef.
