Movie rec: Someone, somewhere
Someone, Somewhere (2019) is a French film directed by French filmmaker Cédric Klapisch and starring actors Ana Girardot and François Civil. This film was part of the French Film Tour of Latin America in its 2022 edition.
The story talks about how important it is to work on the wounds of the past to have a fuller life and relationships that add to you and do not hurt you. It is, apparently, not a love story, but the path to reach it, tinged with moments of drama and comedy.
Perhaps the deepest moral is that the most important relationship you will ever have in your life will always be the relationship with yourself, because all your other relationships will depend on it: your romantic partners, friends, family, co-workers, children... And it is precisely because of it that we know what we want and where we need to heal.
Spending quality time with ourselves will help us not only to get to know you better but also to recharge our batteries for our daily lives and the people we care about.
As the proverb says “you can't pour from an empty cup”, meaning you can't give anything if you don't have anything to give and the way to get something to give is by working on yourself and spending time solo.
This will look different for everyone: for some it is about having a hobby, an activity that recharges us with energy and helps us release stress, or taking care of our diet and following an exercise regimen; for others it is to focus on their careers or postpone them altogether to dedicate themselves to their children and home life; for others it is going to therapy and even taking medication; and there are those whose for it will even mean spending life in solitude, without romantic relationships but with many close friends and family members.
In the end, the goal of all this is to be complete, fulfilled and happy people, first with ourselves and then with the rest of the world, because, if we seek our happiness and validation depending on someone else, we are destined to be unhappy. Of course, this is easier said than done. There is nothing wrong with seeking recognition and acceptance from our close (and not so close) relationships, as long as our self-esteem does not depend solely on it. If you find meaning in your life, if you enjoy what you do, if you have plans and goals that excite you, then, you are closer to feeling complete and finding other people who accompany you, who contribute to your life's journey and who are also complete people. Resuming on the movie, this is another of its many morals. Maybe it will speak to you differently and tell you some other stuff, but the bottom line is that the movie is deep and full of meaning and easy to watch, and that you will enjoy it. Don't miss it! :)

Muchas gracias!! Que bonito !!!😇🥰
Felicidades!!!!🥳
I was in tears even before playing the video! Recently started watching Bluey and to be honest I am saviouring every episode, making sure not to rush through them. Luce as a kid would have love it too! Without all the sometimes extreme drama cartoons such as "Candy", "Peline" and the anime series called in Spanish "La Ranita Demetan" displayed. I also remember feeling sad and stressed after watching some of them...But Bluey is so not like that. I am sure this is appreciated by kids and parents equally. Cheers to all healthy, innocent and non invasive copying mechanisms! And thanks for sharing this one! 😍
